We're excited to announce that Galewood Neighbors, Inc. is hosting its

2nd Annual Galewoodstock Music Festival on

Saturday, August 27, 2022 12-8PM at

Sayre Language Academy: 1850 N. Newland Ave., Chicago, IL 60707.

Last year was a success with bands, kids activities, food trucks, and over 300 guests!

This FREE family-friendly event includes:


  • Live Music

  • Children’s Activities (12PM-2:30PM)

    • Children's Entertainers, Balloon Artists, a Bubble Show, Painting Activities, Games, Dancing and more!

  • Great Food

    • Food will be available for purchase from local Chicago restaurants and catering businesses.

  • Local Makers

    • We’ll have booths setup with products available from Chicago makers and artisans such as beauty products from Shine by Mari and customized tumblers from Toya's Tumblers & Things.  Shop local!

  • Local Artists & Art Demonstrations

    • The following local artists will be providing demonstrations and/or have  work available for purchase:


  1. How much are tickets and where can I buy them?  This is a FREE event!  No advance tickets required.  We do have a suggested donation of $5 that can be donated at the Galewood Neighbors table.  Your donation helps us continue to provide events throughout the year for the community!

  2. Is this a family friendly event?  Yes!  Galewood Neighbors Inc wants to ensure this is a fun event for EVERYONE  in the community and anyone creating a hostile or inappropriate environment will be asked to leave.   Galewood Neighbors, Inc. in its sole discretion will remove any Galewoodstock attendee that does not comply with the rules set forth by Galewood Neighbors, CPS, DCASE.  Additionally, as we are holding the event on school property, the consumption, possession or sale of alcoholic or intoxicating beverages, tobacco, illegal drugs or related paraphernalia is NOT permitted and attendees violating these rules will be asked to leave.  

  3. Will there be bathrooms available?  Portable toilets will be available at the event.

  4. Is this a cash only event?  No, we will food and merchandise vendors available who accept cash and/or credit.

  5. Are dogs allowed at Galewoodstock?  We recommend that you leave your dog at home due to the amount of people, children, and loud noise.  Leashed dogs are always welcome on the sidewalk  along the perimeter of the field so long as they are good with children.

  6. Are there street closures I should prepare for?  No, all residential streets will be open as usual.

  7. Is parking available?  Free street parking will be available but limited.  We recommend walking, biking, Metra or CTA, if possible.

  8. Is there a lost and found?  A Lost & Found will be available at the Galewood Neighbors table.  If you need help locating it, feel free to ask any of our volunteers in the green shirts!

  9. Will set times get posted?  Yes, set times will be posted closer to the fest. Check back soon on galewoodneighbors.org/galewoodstock  for more information. 

  10. What Covid-19 protocols are in place?  Are masks required?   We will be following local guidelines for outdoor events.  If you're sick, we ask that you  please stay home.
